Solid historical girl-power piece. Haunting. Scary. While this is a work of fiction, the author made pains to indicate that it is authtentic. Given my american-based education, I am in no position to tell. However I always wonder what things would be like if my home were under attack and what I might do to rise to the occassion. These types of stories give me fodder for those thought exercises. I saw that this was YA, if it is, I would call it edgy-YA.
